About the instructors

💃Valerie, a.k.a Val Danza is a classically trained dancer. From the tender age of three she danced ballet. In 2009 she added Salsa and Bachata to her repertoire and finally fell in love with Kizomba and Urban Kiz. Ever since she has trained and mastered the craft of teaching those beautiful dances with her specialty in Urban Kiz.


Last but not least, in 2021, she was drawn into the beautiful world of Brazilian Zouk, training intensively and eventually starting an inspiring dance & teaching partnership with Rodrigo Henrique Teixeira, one of Oslo’s most distinguished Brazilian Zouk teachers.


Val’s dedication has resulted in her travelling around the world teaching Partnerwork and Ladystyling at major festivals and collaborating with both, local and international teachers. In 2018 she moved to Oslo to contribute to the growth of the dance community in Scandinavia.


She is known for her professionalism, positive energy and the ability to identify the needs of her students. Teaching the follower’s as well as the leader’s role, Val knows exactly how to break down the content for both sides. In class her enthusiasm and passion for teaching can be seen as all her students leave feeling confident and accomplished.


She values not only connection, technique and musicality but also emotions and creativity while paying attention to details and creating a fun and inspiring environment for her students to learn.

About the instructors

💃Hilde Bjørnebøle was born on the West Coast of Norway and currently works as a Personal Trainer and Brazilian Zouk teacher in Oslo where she teaches alongside Omar Eikrem and Petter Nøding.


Bjørnebøle has also been touring Europe with Pasty Edelmar Pieternelle, sharing the passion of Contemporary Zouk.


Bjørnebøle obtained her BA in modern/contemporary dance in 2009 - Oslo, Norway.

After completing her dance education, Hilde has worked in dance and theater performances, as well as performing at several number of Brazilian Zouk Festivals.

 

Bjørnebøle’s Brazilian Zouk style is influenced by techniques from both contemporary dance and classical ballet. She is passionate about using these styles in order to spice up and evolve the beautiful art of Brazilian Zouk. 🕺🏾Omar started learning Brazilian zouk in 2012, and quickly became one of the most skilled zouk dancers in Oslo.


He has learned from some of the world's best zouk instructors on courses both in Norway and in abroad. He is concerned that everyone should learn good basic technique, while he is good at create a good atmosphere in dance classes.


Omar is a technically strong and versatile dancer. He is one of Oslo's most skilled salsa dancers and has experience as a salsa instructor. In 2014, he became Norwegian champion in salsa line style. In 2012, he came up with third place in Norwegian Bachata Stars. In addition to couple dancers, Omar has danced classical ballet, jazz ballet and hip hop

Wednesdays with Josue and Kristin

Beginner Level


About the instructors

💃KRISTIN VAMBESET

Kristin has her background from Ballroom dance (modern and latin), competing internationally for several years. She started teaching at the age of 16.


When she dances, she really feels like she get to use her wide range of deeply felt emotions and her sensitivity. As this expresses through the movement of her body and meeting with a partner and the music, she feels present and fully alive. Her passion and joy awakens on the dance floor.


When she teaches, she focuses on a good basic technique and structure from where true embodiment, emotions and play can be uniquely expressed by each person.


The sensuality, beautiful rhythm, the surrender, flow, connection and play in Brazilian zouk made her fall in love with this dance.


🕺🏾JOSUE FORSTER AYOVI

Josué discovered latin music/dance from early in his life. Being from Ecuador, it was natural to listen to music in every corner, from there on he got interested more and more in the dancing world. Dancing salsa, bachata and urban kiz. He is teaching Bachata nationally and internationally.


He discovered Brazilian Zouk and fell in love with it. Now as a zouk dancer he wants to teach his knowledge. The understanding and connection he has to the music is essential in both his dancing and teaching.
